Solo performance - 30 minutes
A solo performance that pushes the boundaries of conventional artistic disciplines, morphing into a ritual entwining dance, performance, and theater.
Conceived and enacted by Teddy Boussengui, this production emerged following an anxiety episode in early 2021, stemming from the need to transmute trauma into resilience by transforming fear into self-love. Drawing inspiration from the Bwiti Misoku, a Gabonese ritual where initiates delve into the roots of their pain within their community.
In this performance, the support of the community is paramount. It's an immersive experience where the audience becomes active participants in the ritual, guided by the protagonist through a blend of hip-hop, contemporary dance, and theater. This ongoing exchange renders each presentation a singular journey.
It underscores how communal support can unlock personal empowerment, illustrating that by acknowledging this, we shed our cocoon with the capacity to heal ourselves.
